How We Can Work Together

*There is no single approach to therapy that works for everyone. I draw from a range of evidence based approaches and tailor our work to your individual needs, experiences, and goals.

Areas of Focus

What to Expect From Our Time Together

Starting therapy can bring a mix of hope, uncertainty, and even a little nervousness. You may wonder what to expect, whether you’ll feel comfortable, or whether therapy can really make a difference. My goal is to make the process feel approachable and supportive from the beginning, so you can focus less on figuring out therapy and more on finding your way forward.

Initial Contact
Getting started can look different for everyone. You are welcome to reach out by email, and if you would feel more comfortable talking first, we can schedule a brief phone consultation. This is a chance to share what is bringing you to therapy, ask questions, and get a feel for whether working together feels right for you. There is no pressure, just an opportunity to connect before taking the next step.

Your First Session
Your first full session is a chance to slow down and begin making sense of what you’ve been experiencing. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, your personal history, and what you hope will feel different through therapy. There’s no expectation that you have everything figured out. Together, we’ll begin identifying where you are now and where you’d like to go.

Ongoing Therapy
Sessions typically last 45–55 minutes and are shaped around your needs and goals. Sometimes therapy is focused on a specific challenge or transition and may be relatively brief. Other times, you may want more space to explore deeper patterns, relationships, identity, or experiences that have shaped you. We’ll check in along the way and make adjustments together so that therapy continues to feel meaningful and relevant to you.

A Collaborative Approach
I believe therapy works best when we work with one another. You bring your lived experience, perspective, and knowledge of yourself; I bring clinical experience, specialized training, and therapeutic tools. Together, we’ll make sense of what you’re experiencing, build on your strengths, and find approaches that fit who you are, rather than relying on the same approach for everyone.

A Space to Be Yourself
Therapy is a place where you don’t have to have the right words or have everything figured out. I strive to create a space that feels safe, respectful, compassionate, and free of judgment. Your privacy is protected, and what you share remains confidential within the limits of the law. My hope is that you leave each session feeling heard, supported, and a little more connected to yourself and your path forward.
